The back page of the new People has the question they ask celebs, this week's was what are you doing to keep busy during the writer's strike. Jason Bateman said he was training and was going to kick Katie Holmes' ass in the next marathon.

MarathonGate is another our my favorite topics

It makes me mad that Katie's people thought it would be a good idea to cheat running a Marathon. It is a complete insult to all the thousands of individuals that really ran it, especially if those individuals were raisining money for charity.

Reading these threads, there really is a damning dossier of evidence against Katie...

Yeah, PB, then that explains the difference. I just had personally never seen it. Also, I am not this great, fabulous athlete. Right now, I am about 30 lbs overweight and totally out of shape. It is killing me training for the bridge run which is in 2 1/2 months. I cannot believe how much age and being sedentary tears up your body. When I was really running, I was in my mid twenties, and now in my mid thirties, having had a child, it is a world of difference!

This is on cele/bitchy's website - apologies if it's a repeat, but the content is interesting. It's entirely possible, if you believe the article, that one of KAK's trainers (there were apparently two with her) wore her chip - - the one that was not only a "special guest" at the Lions for Clams premiere, but also wearing a bib from 2003 and unregistered.

About the different times...it could be because of the chip giving "real time". In other words, when you see people crossing the finish line, it shows their gross time. Chip timing gives net time, deducting all the waiting that takes place in the beginning of the race. In most big marathons it takes minutes before you are even able to cross the starting line. That could explain the 10 - 15 minute differences.

Hippo and Sxpnce...Have you thought about contacting Sports Illustrated, a Runner's magazine, or something like Newsweek or Time with the idea that this farce could be even bigger than the Rosie Ruiz scandal? I remember that hit all the major mags back in the day and she was no "big name celebrity" who was at the center of the scandal. It would sure be worth a try, especially Sports Illustrated and a Runner's mag. Good Luck!!!

So, has anybody heard anymore about KAK supposedly competing? Still haven't seen any pics of her "training" or whatever.

ETA: I just checked the official website of the marathon - they have a search function where you can look for the names of the entrants. Nothing under Holmes or Cruise.
