To me Ella looks like both her parents. She and Suri do look a bit alike but mostly because of the same hair colour and cut.

There is a discussion currently on OCMB where ex-Scientologists are estimating how many actual members there are in CO$.

The guesses range from about 15,000 to 100,000, with many people thinking it's less than 50,000 worldwide.

I did not realize that there were so few members.

Skimming thru a 2001 issue of "Martha Stewart Living" (don't hate! ) and there seemed to be infant/toddler Suri -- only it wasn't; it was Ella Bleu Travolta, with her mom and Olivia Newton-John grinning behind her. I mean, the kid looked like Slurpi 1.0, down to the eyes.

I think it's very interesting to read how the image of celebrity has changed since this plan was first hatched. I guess back in the day, people really did want to be in Hollywood and really did look to celebrities for the ideal lifestyle. Ironically, the most famous people of today are the ones who are the biggest laughingstocks. (Britney, Paris, TC etc.)

Well, they may exaggerate their membership, but they can't exaggerate which buildings they own. Somebody knew what they were doing--buying up various pieces in Hollywood when property values were plummeting. I used to work at the corner of Highland and Franklin in 1970 and I remember how seedy Hollywood was getting. Now that Hollywood is on the upswing, that property must be worth so much. And they were right to pick old buildings with interesting...

Hippo, take courage in the fact that the Church of Scientology exaggerates its membership. People who have been watching it are of the opinion that its membership is shrinking. You're right in noting how much real estate Scientology owns, all of it untaxed and refurbished using the free labour of members and people in the RPF. In a sense, Scientology has become an enormous real estate scam.

I didn't realize they owned so much real estate. Too bad, I was hoping that the scandals would destroy the church, but I don't see much chance of that happening. It sounds like their holdings are in the hundreds of millions.
