My son could hold his own head up from birth. And he was remarkably alert for a kid of three months; I heard that from people all the time. Just sayin'. Kids do develop differently.

She looks three-four months old in those pictures. I think they must have taken those pictures a several months before July of '06.

The question is: would Annie Lebovitz really go along with a scam like that?...

Yeah., Now that I've seen a 5-month old baby recently, I can make some more informed comparisons. Suri doesn't llok 3 months old to me in those VF pics.

The VF pics were allegedly taken in July 2006, making Suri allegedly 3 months old. She seem awfully alert and coordinated for a 3-month old.

I just saw my 5-month old niece over the weekend and she looks like such a baby-baby compared to Suri in those pics.

We know when the VF pics were published but we don't know for sure when they were actually taken. More cover-up to disguise her true age? But if that's the case, how many people outside of the Cult, are in on the secret?

I agree with everything that Char2008 wrote.
I think Katie's lack of bonding with Surly is because of Tom and the Scieno crazies. I don't think Katie is ever allowed to be alone with Slurpi, that there's always a Scieno minder around. This is based on what I have read about Scientology, and how controlling they are.
Also, depression (and anorexia/malnutrition) will definitely interfere with any mother-daughter bonding. We have all heard the stories of mothers with...

Maum...you hit my thoughts on the head. The "bonding" moments we've see with Suri and MTP have all seemed controlled to show he is a good dad, has bonding with Suri, etc. And then we have KAK. She just does not look comfortable with Suri a lot of the time. Not to say that she has not bonded with her, but it's very limited.

maum, you pretty much said in 2 posts what I was going to say. I don't know the true extent of the bond (or lack thereof) between Katie and Surly. I can speculate, like everyone else, and I have speculated in the past, when Surly was younger, that Katie had no bond with her. Maum, to continue on something that you refer to, it really annoys me to see Suri, or any small kid, to be dragged out at night at his/her parents' convenience. When they are so little they need a lot of sleep. I found it really weird when KAK was on the tellie recently and said that Suri does they same as they do, go to bed at 11 pm and gets up at 9 am. I think she only does that because they make her. She would probably be sleeping at 8 pm like most little ones if she were allowed to!

It was almost as though the park photo shoot with Suri was a strong message that Tom was sending to Katie. She was there watching it all according to reports. I can just see him telling her how things will be in the end IF she doesn't fall into line.

To go back to this bonding issue, we have no idea what the situation is between KAK and Suri, so of course most of our speculation will be fuelled by pictures, outings etc.

I think people are questioning a bond because there are so few *seen* incidences of K & S having *normal* child-appropriate, fun outings. Most of the pictures we've seen have involve Suri looking exhausted, being driven to and dragged through fashion stores, with no toys or anything to occupy her, and...
