Just re-reading those interviews that someone posted a few weeks ago from 2005 makes me think this was all an act from the beginning. If there had been any real "love" there, then I don't think she would have sounded so hilariously bad in that W interview or been so unfreakin' cringeworthy in her Letterman apperance. I still think that once this charade is over, she won't have anything to do with CO$ ever again, and the public is going to witness one helluva a makeover.

Posts: 335 05/04/09 16:33:25	I believe she was swept off her feet - not by love, but by her idea of what her life would be like as Tiny's beard - living as a "super star" - private planes, fast cars, oodles of money, famous friends, fabulous premieres, being worshipped by the public, etc etc. This was during the days of this: She was genuinely excited and happy - not about her new "romance", but about what the next five years of her life was going to be like and her hope of becoming the next Nicole Kidman. Say she didn't know anything about the cult of scientology and/or how controlling Tiny is, she might have thought it would be a great adventure, with both monetary and career benefits. (She'd still need to have a complete lack of morality to bring a child into it though.) As time has gone on, she's realised what she's signed up for - both in terms of the effects of the cult and Tiny's personality. The stress of it clearly shows in her gradual decline - she clearly has some kind eating disorder (food intake probably being the only thing she can control in her life). But she's not under lock and key, she could leave if she really wants to, perhaps she's weighed things up and given what she's already put up with and the fact that the career benefits have not materialised, she's going to hang in there for the big payout at the end. (Again, it's completely immoral to allow her daughter to stay in this situation.) What I'm curious about is what Tiny's next move will be - trying to sell the public on another "great love" is going to be impossible (not that Mr. Ego would recognise that). In fact, given his tenuous link with reality, unless his PR team keeps him reigned in, we could be in for another ridiculous show with the next beard, because you know she's got to be younger than the one before and they have to be moooore in love...

Does she know the stuff that's being written about her - or is she THAT isolated. When blind items talk about her throwing her weight around in Hollywood - could that be because she doesn't realise that no-one buys the story of her shammarriage and no-one respects her? When people refer to stories being leaked or planted by her PR team - does she have a PR team focused just on her? If Tiny is controlling her every move and who she has contact with, I wouldn't have thought that he would allow a PR team to represent her interests alone - let alone allow such a team to leak/plant stories in her defence that make him look bad.

They never had a marriage in a Catholic Church or any other Christian denomination so in the eyes of the Church, Suri is illegitimate. I always thought that if that had been an issue she would have insisted on a marriage in a church and before Suri was born. At the very least, you think the kid would have at least been baptised. I doubt she has ever set foot in any church. I dunno, I am firmly in the camp that the joy in those pictures came from being in the spotlight. I have no idea if she is "banned" from contacting her family, but I often wondered that if she did cut off contact it wasn't part of her agreement to tell no one about their business agreement rather than anything that CO$ demanded. Former members have said celebs are treated differently from regular members.

Seriously, if I was a shallow, materialistic, fame-loving hobag, I would probably have been totally delighted - - at that time, Tinky wasn't the laughingstock he is now and based on Nicole Kidman's resume, everything pointed to Katie's career picking up and becoming more "A list". By all accounts, it should have been a win-win situation for the both of them. Sorry, but my view is that her life is completely controlled. That house in CA has a $1 million plus security system in it-- microphones AND cameras everywhere which is probably why she tries to be there as little as possible. Every week, according to some reports, she has to write a letter of confession to CTC, I imagine her cell phone usage is also completely monitored. And how many times has she just flown back to Toledo to see family-- just her and Suri?? I don't know of anytime that has happened. When my kids were little, I flew out to my folk's a few times a year. She has her own plane, correct?? Recent reports state that CTC is furious that she has taken up smoking again. So in my view, everything in her life is completely monitored and directed by mtp himself. After the most recent detox, she looked terrible so apparently she underwent something the COS is calling 'sparkle' probably made up just for her--where she got pampered and massaged and mud packed and came out at least better then she looked before. I don't think her health can handle much more of this 'religion'.

Re: how much control she is under-I have no doubts MTP is a control freak, but I take the reports of him making her write confessions and her undergoing all these detox rundowns with a heaping of salt. I think it is easy to assume the worst about him but unless someone like a former employee or CO$ member reports seeing this, I am skeptical. I have no proof either, but my theory is that for the most part, these two lead seperate lives. As long as she upholds her end of the agreement, I don't think he cares what she does. It kind of reminds me of KAK's infamous "purple hands" and how it was widely said they were a result of a detox. Turns out all it really was was dye. (Apparently, it was transferred to her hands after she wore a pair of leather gloves as part of a costume for the now-cancelled tv show, ELI STONE. )
