I stopped breastfeeding in October, and have been in somewhat of a rut until maybe just this month (I'm just starting climb out of if really), so I can empathize. Persistent PMS is a perfect way to describe how I was feeling. Exercise is the main thing that's been working for me, and with the exercise I've been inspired to eat better (more or less), and I've been making sure to take my supplements and get enough sleep. I'm coming around.

For mild depression and/or insomnia, I would highly recommend acupuncture (in addition to the above mentioned things), if you've not tried it already. I've seen it work wonders for both of those conditions.
