I completely believe that this is what he told her in their first "love at first sight" business meeting/contract proposal.

I guess it made sense at the time. She'd been receiving reasonably good reviews and had worked with som good actors/directors. First Daughter was a bleep in an otherwise solid CV.
Of course Batman Begins hadn't come out then. Nor had Thank You For Smoking. (by the way I bet Aaron Eckhart was relieved not to have to work with her again!)
