Nunya, the birth of my daughter was a bit like yours. Waters broke and nothing happened so the drip of oxytocin was started. Zero to full blown contractions in minutes. Couldn't get any breathing going. Opted for epidural. 2nd birth, my son was easier but still got the epi at the end.
As Sheila said, you'll just do anything to not be pregnant at the end.
My sister-in-law told me that I was the only person who told her the truth about how bad labour is. I think it is a shock to the system too.
Make sure you go for pain relief.
Yep, it is worth it, though. My gorgeous kids are teens (well one nearly) and they are the love of my life , along with hubby.:)
