It seems Kaka is stuck in a rut, and clueless as to what a 4/5 year old may enjoy doing. So here's some ideas from the RTM household of how to pay attention to young daughters without taking them to the store every damn time:

*The park! Push them on the swing, help them down the slide, climb around with them & introduce yourself to the other mums & teach your child to introduce themselves to the random other kids!
*The library! Perfect on a rainy/snowy day, but avoid the adult section! There's lots of books in the kids section, and you can get down on your own hands & knees to search the bottom shelf. Sometimes the library has volunteers who provide activities for young children! Let them join in the group!
*Go play in the backyard & invite the other neighbourhood kids along!
*Get out the construction paper & crayons and teach them to draw their favorite things!
*Visit the pet store - but only to look, not to buy!
*A science museum! See demonstrations by actual scientists who love teaching kids! Get your hands dirty in demos! Learn about real science (as opposed to made-up-crap with "scien-" in the title...)!
*Make your own cupcakes at home, sneaking in wholesome ingredients like raisins or oatmeal so your kids aren't so malnourished that they look like ghosts!

This concludes the daily dose of helpful mother-daughter activity advice from the desk of RTM. Free for the taking!
