It was her dream gig and she fought harder to get that role than for any other part in her career.' She probably did have to fight hard - to get Tom to shell out more money to help prop up a career that's been circling the drain for years and is ready to finally go down with the next flush.

Having been turned down by other US cable networks, The Kennedys landed on the obscure film channel Reelz, a network which Holmes herself hitherto shunned whenever she was on on the red carpet. No doubt she 'shunned' the network as being beneath her and not worth her attention, yet now has to suck up big-time.  Delicious!

In a bid to maximise the synergy between film and fashion that Holmes has always wanted to achieve, her clothing line Holmes&Yang initially looked into the possibility of  a Jackie Kennedy-esque line for their 2011 spring collection. I'd like to shoot whoever talked her out of that - it would have been priceless for snark!
'It came as a shock to Katie that she had third billing on The Kennedys behind Greg Kinnear [who plays JFK] and Barry Pepper [Robert Kennedy],' the business associate reveals to MailOnline. Why would that have come as a 'shock'? Seriously, why? If she truly thinks she deserved top billing, then her level of delusion regarding her ability and standing in Hollywood is way beyond what I would have thought possible.

Obviously JFK was going to always going to be the lead but Katie is the show's most prominent star. Katie gets on with Barry Pepper just fine but her camp was mystified that the producers elected to give her third billing. The only reason KAK is prominent is because of the bought-and-paid-for paps that follow her everywhere and she is married to a fading A-lister. Nothing to do with her.

Barry Pepper is a decent actor but when was the last time you saw him on the cover of a magazine?' And that is relevant, how?

The credit controversy accounts for why Holmes walked away from the red carpet when reporters asked her about The Kennedys at the premiere of her short film The Decision in New York a fortnight ago, an ill-received collaboration with  English hairstylist John Frieda. She can't even sell hair-colour on-line without attracting criticism. And she walked away because she knows she sucked and was worried about what the reporters were going to ask next.

Marrying Tom Cruise in a star-studded wedding in Italy in 2007, seven months after the birth of their baby girl Suri, was supposed to make her an A-list movie star in her own right. That frickin' says it all. Girlfriend doesn't think she has to actually work for her career. It should be handed to her on a platter because of who she married.

'In the last five years Katie Holmes's career has become bland and boring,' says Friedman. 'Her best acting role has been as Tom Cruise's wife!' She's been pretty lousy at that role too.

'If Katie in person couldn't fill the cinema, what chance is there of attracting an audience to watch her on screen? Exactly! And exactly why she doesn't deserve top billing in anything.

'She would have jumped at the chance to have played opposite Daniel as the female lead in How to Succeed…', says the source. Hahahahahahahahaha! She's 10 years older than him!

TomKat have taken plenty of flak for how they are raising Suri, who is frequently photographed in high heels, with a pacifier in her mouth and a Starbucks cup in hand. Yet they keep right on doing it.

'Katie is unfairly maligned,' her acquaintance says. 'She spends more time out with Suri than any other high-profile actress who has young children.' She spends more time in front of a camera with Suri than any other actress. Doesn't make her a 'great mum', just a user.
