If they had told Tommy to sit tight, they would still be together today, I honestly believe that. I agree. No doubt in my mind that either Tiny was directly told to ditch Nicole, or he came to the conclusion that he had to get rid of her because she wouldn't commit to CO$ and because of her psychiatrist father. For most of their relationship, he was in CO$ but not that deep. He was enticed in deeper late in the relationship and then she got the flick. They had the perfect movie star couple public image and I sometimes wonder if he realises just how stupid he was to walk away from that. Probably not. I doubt Tiny is capable of taking responsibility for anything. And while I do think the CO$ may have put some pressure on Tommy to find a replacement, maybe even encouraging the relationship with Cruz and with Vergara, I don't think the contract with Katie necessarily came down directly from Davey and/or the CO$. I believe there was a list put together, either by Tommy himself, by DM or perhaps by Pat Kingsley (although I do think that Kingsley likely would have vetoed Katie if she spent any time around her). I think Katie was on the list because she was young, she was relatively attractive then and she was considered up and coming - - she hadn't "made it" yet and that would make her more receptive to a contract offer. She also had the fanbase and demographic that the CO$ was looking for - - young. I think Cruz and Vergara were attempts to woo the Latin fanbase into CO$. I think after those two failed attempts they perhaps decided that maybe the Latin Catholic roots were too strong (and therefore a problem) and they walked away from that idea to go for a younger demographic. Pat Kingsley departed a year before the advent of KAK, while he was still with Penelope. To me, 'The List' has CO$ fingers all over it. Sister Lee Anne was his publicist when it was formulated and when he 'fell madly in love' with KAK. She wasn't fired until late in 2005. Wasn't it rumoured that she was RPF'd? That might not just be for his disastrous PR - she might have been responsible for the list, who was on it and being the driving force behind the nightmare that is TomKat.Katie definitely needed Tommy more than he needed her, looking back on it now. Had there never been a TomKat, I think Tommy would have bounced back. There would have been no couch jumping, no ranting on Matt Lauer, no attacking of Brooke Shields. This relationsham has been devastating for both of them professionally but Tommy has a lot more to lose than Katie. Had there never been a TomKat, there would have been a Tom and whoever and I think his behaviour would have been the same. Having Lee Anne as his publicist allowed the CO$ crazy to come out of the box, because she was also an ardent follower and there was no voice of sanity like Pat to reign him in and settle him down. I agree she needed him more than he needed her, but he had more to lose.Tom made two huge mistakes in the early 'noughties'. The first was ditching Nicole and the second was ditching Pat. I think ultimate responsibility for both of these mistakes lies with CO$.
