I don't think it's a huge deal either, but our "society-at-large" does. Right or wrong, that kid will pay a price for her self-promotion that he shouldn't have to pay. As the mother of an autistic 9-year-old who is very vulnerable to bullying, and as a substitute teacher, I've seen just how awful children can be to each other. And how it can indeed cause long-term suffering for the child.

And why EL couldn't find a girl to promote a girls' line of clothing to girls is beyond me. Little girls sometimes like to wear boys' clothing, but no one markets boys' clothing to boys by putting them on girls.
