Puff piece.
the son of a demanding father who all but abandoned him, but who would reconcile with his son before his premature death from cancer.
Wot's this? I don't recall any report of reconciliation happening. Tom was notified of his father's imminent passing and he went to be at his father's bedside. According to what he told Diane Sawyer in April last year, he and his dad didn't say (or hardly said) a word. I'm not here to definitively claim what was actually said between father and son, the point being that no details of the conversation--specifically reconciliation--were ever made public (not to my knowledge anyway).

Cruise has already greenlighted three intriguing projects: "Lions for Lambs," a drama directed by Robert Redford, in which he plays a U.S. senator and co-stars with Redford and Meryl Streep; "Valkyrie," a World War II drama in which he plays Hitler's would-be assassin, teaming with director Bryan Singer for the first time; and a new Oliver Stone film, "Pinkville."
"PINKville"?? A snarky joke that's just RIPE for the picking!! Nanuq...I'll let you have the honour. image

...Tom giving $50 million from MI3 to CO$?
Yep...that just strengthened my resolve to boycott Cruise's films (as if I need more reason to do so).
