The fact that they recycled the dumb "serenaded Kate with you've lost that loving feeling" story from 2006 is perhaps one of the saddest indicators of fakery.

And if it is not a fake, if Tom really keeps serenading Katie with that song in front of thier "friends" well, gag. TMI. I personally couldn't sit thru that more than once. I mean, it is sort of like, your husband thinks he has perfected a cornball joke that got him a good laugh when he first told it in 1984, and as his wife you have to sit through 25 years of the endless re-telling of that boring, only marginally funny joke and smile good-naturedly as he predictably launches into it every single time he meets someone new. And because he doesn't keep track of who has already heard the joke, sometimes he tells it repeatedly in front of the same "friends."

The Oprah PR debacle has put me over the edge- I no longer hate the guy, just feel tremendous pity for his intellectual limitations. He can enjoy his excessive wealth and share it with that inane cult, but he has no real powers of persuasion except over the dumbest segments of society, really. But he is just a very shallow, callow person who probably can't articulate anything of real experience because he just doesn't experience life too deeply.

Which is probably why he was such a sucker for Dianetics in the first place. It probably felt really mind-blowing and deep.
