ETA: And whoever designed that dress should be shot. Who would ever think putting a big line in the middle of the bustline would be flattering to anyone? Let alone a woman who thinks "bra" is a bad word, has no boobs, and has protruding chest bones? |

There's pretty much not one thing right about this dress--at least not the way she wears it (or it wears her):
1. It doesn't fit. 2. The length is unflattering for her. 3. The color is bad. 4. The style doesn't allow for a bra, which she desperately needs. 5. All that ruching on the front is way too much. Did I leave anything out? |

So spangly silver heels are for the beach and black flats (albeit with silver heels) are for the hotel based party? Hmmm, riiiight....
Of course, no wedding guest's outfit would be complete without the ever-present cell phone. |

Did some rabid animal claw out the back of her dress? That thing looks like one of those dresses you see on a clearance rack and you think no one in their
right mind is ever going to buy that and then you actually see someone wearing it and it looks even worse.

Her dress is one of Bottega Veneta's offerings for spring summer 2007 and it is made of jersey. It is sold at Matches in London among other places and you
can see it here:

It appears to be some sort of synthetic jersey. No crime in itself, but...it's just an ugly dress.
Although the right shoes and some other accessories might have made a huge difference.

The dress on the site is...ok; not great, but all right. All that ruching and the line right across the bustline would be problematic for most women, I would
think. The fact that KAK is wearing it in a totally ridiculous way (it looks like she didn't have a clue as to how to tie it and none of her handlers
would help her or knew any better), that it doesn't fit, and that she desperately needs some support makes it truly bad.
And the thing is--idiots like Entertainment Tonight and the I-11 will just ramble on that it's a designer dress and cost $1800--not that it looks like crap on her. |

Well, I think it's more than just the straps.
 Her posture, the way she walks, the shoes, they all contribute. I also suspect it could use some custom
tailoring...it somehow doesn't drape right.

Hey CT,
I worked in the shopping center/fashion industry years ago (it was the late 80's/early 90's). I coordinated fashion shows and other merchandising events and learned a lot about fabrics. Jersey is a type of knit and can be made from silk or blends of other fibers (even T-shirts are made with cotton jersey) and have a distinctive way of draping the body. Silk jersey is very dressy and very sexy...if it's worn correctly.
