Huh? When has anyone ever implied that Angelina was a bad parent? Yeah, she's been criticized for travelling too much, and people didn't like her "blob" comment about Shiloh when she was still just a newborn. But she has never been so much as rumored to have endangered or neglected any of her children. If anything, she and Brad have been held up as great, devoted parents. Britney, by contast, has an obvious pattern of behavior that implies mental illness and possible neglect and/or endangerment of her children; I don't admire KAK's parenting, but to say CPS should investigate her for falling while wearing heels is a bit much, IMO.

I have carried my toddler while wearing heels, but for short periods, not for an entire day of photo-ops and shopping. That's what we're criticizing KAK for. I don't see any signs that KAK is a or irresponsible parent; just an oddly unattached one who made a stupid mistake. All parents have done that, just not in front of cameras.

Incidentally, when my son was 11 months old, I fell while carrying him. It was in the house and I was wearing only socks, one of which got caught on something. I fell and twisted (broke) my foot, because I did not reach out for something to stop my fall -- I would have dropped him if I had -- and so, he wasn't hurt. But I might have been unsuccessful at completely protecting him and he might have been hurt -- should CPS have been called then? There's a difference between a parent making a stupid mistake, which all of us have done, and a pattern of willful neglect, endangerment, and/or abuse, and I think the line needs to be made very distinct.

Sorry if I'm overreacting a bit; this topic gets me really worked up. I know a couple who recently had their children forcibly removed from their home by CPS because some anonymous neighbor thought they had too many kids (One biological and four fosters who were eventually adopted) and decided to file a bogus report of "possible" abuse. The kids were removed before any investigation took place. The parents were completely cleared and got their kids back within a week -- but the children have been permanently traumatized. They are terrified of even short separations from their parents -- even to go to school. Can you imagine? I feel so sorry for them. I'm all for protecting children, but...government interference to this extent is dangerous, IMHO.
