there was a screeening this week and 4 comments were made on the board. Maybe a couple of these posters are just PR persons : because the IMDb MOVIEmeter went minus 23% this the last week (the week of the first private screenings...).
I got to see a test audience screening today. I have no idea why my location says London, England? I live in Orlando,FL. Anyway
The movie was Enjoyable. It reminded me of one of those old quirky 80's movies that made you feel good. It's by not a smart movie, but you get past that cause its funny. Just watching Diane Keaton running around stealing money is worth seeing the film. There's not much else to say about it, its just a fun movie. Diane Keaton, Ted Danson and Queen Latifah did a good job, the only Character I was confused by was Katie Holmes? She played a dimwitted girl who lives in a trailer? Then you realize Katie is perfect for this, she ended up being likable and funny. To get right down to it this is just a quirky Hollywood comedy. You will get many laughs and you will enjoy the entire film. I kept thinking "would I have been mad if I payed for this" I wouldn't have.
ehm... it was a decent movie.
it wasn't amazing, but it was "okay".
it had its funny moments.
katie's role was pretty amusing. it's a lot different than her regular more serious character roles.
Just saw MAD MONEY at a screening in Orlando, and I loved it. MAD MONEY is that fun movie you're always wishing someone would make so you could buy your ticket and then just completely enjoy yourself. Diane Keaton actually gets better as the movie goes along, and Katie Holmes, well, you've never seen her like this before and she's a stitch! Queen Latifah adds a touch of class to every role they give her, she lights up the screen. The little known actor playing Katie Holme's boyfriend is a real find and great comic relief. Don't get me wrong, I also love intense intellectual films, but every so often I need to just laugh and this is the perfect movie to make you smile. If the marketing types are smart they won't give too much away, and instead allow the lovely characters and simple plot to reveal themselves. Enjoy!
I cant disagree with you more.I too was at the showeast screening and I thought it was awful.Too be fair it was my third film of the day and it was a REALLY rough cut,but I cant imagine it getting any better. The people I was with loved it,so maybe its just me.I just didnt buy the characters. The best actor I thought was queen latifah boyfriend........................"17%?!Really?"
