Someone from here has posting privileges there, yes? Anonymous members wrote to the corporate sponsors mentioned in Miscavige's speech, saying Miscavige was telling Co$ members that those companies were sponsoring donations to $cientology. Here's Coke's response: "Thank you for contacting The Coca-Cola Company regarding a possible association with the Church of Scientology. As an enterprise conducting business in more than 200 countries, The Coca-Cola Company respects diverse cultures and beliefs around the world. However, the Company is not affiliated with any specific religion, including the Church of Scientology. In regards to the booklet, "The Way to Happiness," Coca-Cola Pakistan made a donation to the National Office of The Way to Happiness Pakistan in Karachi, Pakistan. This small donation was made with the specific understanding that The Way to Happiness was a Non-Government Organization (NGO), with no religious affiliation, providing non-religious support for the local community, including services for the blind. Coca-Cola Pakistan's contribution was made with the good faith understanding that the National Office of The Way to Happiness Pakistan provided goods and services -- books, Braille imprints, language translations, etc.- to the needy and handicapped similar to other non-profit organizations active in Pakistan. In soliciting the contribution, The Way to Happiness Pakistan did not indicate an affiliation with the Church of Scientology. The Coca-Cola Company and Coca-Cola Pakistan will not renew donations for "The Way to Happiness." We hope we have addressed your concerns. It was not upfront with Coca-Cola about who they really were. Pakistan is going through some real turmoil these days and the Church of Scientology is "helping" it by tarnishing its name even more. I'm not even a Pakistani citizen and I feel pissed!! I hope someone would send a list of all the Scientology front groups to Coca-Cola to warn them from being deceived the next time.

I think at first the woman I spoke with thought I was joking. I told her to check it out for herself. I think it would be wonderful if all those who were linked to that cult would stand up and say how Cos misrepresented itself.

Did you explain to the woman that many people are becoming aware of the dangerous and harmful nature of Co$ and consumers are reluctant to buy products from companies/celebs who are endorsing Co$? That should light a fire under their rumps. Maybe we should follow up with an email to the company. That way, they might respond with an email like Coke did, and it could get publicly posted. At first I don't think she knew how to respond to me at all. Probably thought i was a nut job. I gave her all of the information including the link to David Miscavige who clearly mentions Kimora Lee and has her likeness up for all to see. I told her about COS and Coke Pakistan. I mentioned that it would be in her best interests if Kimora wasn't t linked to this CULT that she should say so herself , and not just let her PR people handle it for her. Posts: 1494 02/20/08 14:05:17	I wasn't sure but I think I saw Kimora at the NYC protest, filming the protest. I can't be certain, but she is unique looking. She appeared to have a male assistant with her; so how many regular people show up with an assistant? She wasn't participating in the protest. And she wasn't going in the Sci Center(that I saw anyway). Maybe she was in town for Fashion Week and decided she wanted to see what was going on. Coke's response is fantastic. I wish now that we could get as definitive responses from everyone else especially Kimora as they used her face presumably without her permission. I think we figured that DM had exaggerated, but that's actually a fraud. In the US, that could be a potentially prosecutable offense. In Pakistan, on the scale of things happening there, it is probably inconsequential. "How about that? That's good old conservative Islam, which doesn't look to kindly on anyone not involved in the three Abrahamic faiths. With all the turmoil that's going on over there now, I imagine that if this story gets to the Pakistani press, the poor folks in those offices literally need to get out of the country. Yeah, wouldn't it be terrible if people wrote to the Pakistani embassy nearest to them, and maybe a line or two to a Pakistani newspaper to let them know about Co$ infiltrating their country, lying to a global corporation about their status (which could easily mean that they would have no qualms about lying to a particular countries government, either), and then dropping in the fact that Co$ refer to non-Co$ as "wogs", which in england is a racist term used against people of colour...

In case some of you weren't aware, Benizar Bhutto, who was their best chance at actual democracy was assasinated recently. Most likely a plot by the Musharif who had been, until about 2 months ago, the military dictator. When he stepped down as the military leader and appointed himself the president. In the "primary" elections held in the past 48 hours it was thought that Bhutto's party was in the lead with the possibility of a member of family running for the presidency. But it now looks as though they, somehow, did not get a majority of votes...... (I wonder how that happened). So in addition to Co$ invading their nation, they are fighting the Islamic fundamentalists, the Taliban, internal turmoil, political assasinations, bribery from the US to remain committed to the "war" and they possess nuclear weapons and a constant threat from India. I'd say they're pretty much screwed on all fronts.

Could it be because they know that they can't really hide what they are about? Look at how Dell, Coke are all releasing statements to say that they have absolutely nothing to do with them. They didn't get the majority but it looks like they, together with the other main opposition party, won enough votes to form a coalition government.

But we've got to follow up with our licensee and get to the bottom of it." Philips Electronics spokesman: "We were as stunned as anybody this morning. It's not something we were aware of. As an equal opportunity employer, religion is not something we comment on." Several of the spokespeople noted that in the video, Miscavige uses slippery language to avoid directly saying the corporations took part in any distribution efforts. The multinationals tend to have Third World image problems, so this is what they're doing about it-Coca Cola Pakistan with a braille edition for the blind, nationally televised no less.
