Why he needs to guide her like a lost doll is beyond us. But we're fascinated by Tom's weird 'arm grip', so we asked body language expert Judi James to reveal its hidden meaning. "Tom's gestures look accelerated and intensified in this photo," says Judi, "I haven't seen this clasp before. "While holding Katie's hand is chivalrous and gentlemanly, grabbing her forearm has a new meaning and shows command and control. "Tom looks more like Katie's bodyguard. That's right, he seemed to keep his hand at the small of her back, but this too had a function. I remember long ago I saw a documentary on body language and they had lots of clips of Tiny and Nicole on the red carpet, and he held his hand at the small of her back. He would give her two little pats and she would lean in for a loving pose, another two little pats and she would break the pose. But still, that's just good PR, the grip is something quite, quite different

Maybe he sees it on Dancing with the Stars and thinks it's a sign of sophistication to grab ahold of a woman's entire arm. You know what's so creepy? He's not just above the elbow, he's just about up to her armpit. It's amazing how people who are so conscious of every move still managed to show you how utterly f'ed up they are. I still maintain the position that Katie herself isn't quite right and that is why she got picked. Someone did not think she would be able to see what was going on around her and would not be able to fight back.
