Probably because she hasn't gone out of her way to court them and give them access to her life. The press has all the areas covered. They don't have time for women who forge a way or are starting to for themselves a la Chelsy and they don't have time for women who apparently couple up with a man and then get a way through that a la Middleton. The UK media is particularly awful in this way and they don't care how old this person may be. Young adults like Chelsy and Middleton should not be getting such headlines. The strange thing is that by nature, most journalists have no growth in what they do. They basically write the same thing for years and years, for someone like Chelsy, she is bound to have some growth and I bet you that these same women will still be writing the same articles in about 10 years if she is still linked to royalty.

IMHO, nothing these women ever say and do will be good enough for the British press and the royal's flunkies. This is 2008, for heaven's sake, and they are still talking about Fergie/Beatrice's weight, Middleton's class or lack of it, and Davey's party girl style, as if the royals, who, after all, are basically a wealthy, upper class, incredibly priveleged family, should marry partners with some kind of royal jelly. The more this goes on, the more Princess Diana's paranoia makes sense. I doubt that any of these women are perfect, or saintly, or will ever be. So what?
On another note, Autumn Kelly and Peter Phillips (who is Princess Anne's son) are being severely criticized for selling the rights to their wedding coverage to Hello! magazine. The British rags say that it is unfair and not very seemly for a "royal" wedding to be sold in this way. IMHO, the rags are pissed that they got cut out and so they are stirring the pot. Why shouldn't they sell their story, keep some control, and make some money? But, she is Canadian, very middle class, and not of the royal lineage, so she is open to criticism. I dont' really care about the royals, but I don't like to see this kind of classism and sexism.

I agree and that is why I always liked her more than Kate. Hell, I think it's a great thing that she is actually furthering her education and not just waiting around for bf to propose. Also, Chelsy really doesn't seem to court the press. If you compare photos of the two, Kate appears to be preening before the cameras whereas Chelsy looks like she is either ignoring them or annoyed by them.
I do think the fact that Chelsy is independentally wealthy, wears short skirts and doesn't give a damn who approves of them or not has caused the press to label her trashy and slutty when in fact she appears far from it.
