LOL Seriously, if anyone takes a trip out to the Southwestern part of the USA, it is an amazing place to see. Sedona and the redrock country in Arizona, Standing there looking up and seeing the cliff dwellings and then around at the Birch and other trees and a stream near-by, you can almost feel them there. oops you can tell I dearly love history. Native Americans from my understanding have been on this continent possibly for 11,000 or more years. Gwyn is beautiful but she is not the brightest crayon in the box...

The country I live in has an aboriginal history that extends at least forty thousand years, but you have to go far into the outback to get any sense of how ancient the land and its people are. If you live in the cities where there exist hardly any buildings older than 100 years and where the oldest European building is 220 years old, you don't feel the same sense of history that you do in European countries. If Goopy spent most of her years living exclusively in L.A. and New York (and yes, I know New York has a lot of "history") then I can see why the visible history of a place like Spain would have made such an impression on her. As for comparing the family-lovin' Spaniards with the frantic Blackberry-hugging Americans, well... in Spain, time has a whole different meaning, so I guess that is all part of it.
